Dear all, I was wondering if I could come into contact with (metal) conservators, who have experience with the treatment of anodized aluminum sculptures.
Last year during my conservation training, I did a study on the cleaning of anodized aluminum surfaces of modern sculptures. At the moment I am graduated and I would like to continue my research. In particular, because I am currently treating an object that has surface stains that I have not yet managed to remove. I have already looked into the use of mechanical cleaning methods, the use of solvents, chelating agents, (solvent-surfactant) gels and emulsions, a steam cleaner and commercial polishes (this last one, not tested on the object). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the cleaning of anodized aluminum sculptures and could tell me about their experiences or maybe already know of a method I have not mentioned above. Feel free to message me directly at: [email protected] or reply to this message by the use of the DistList. Of course I can elaborate on my research or the state/ treatment of the object I am working on. Many thanks in advance and with the best regards, Michaela Groeneveld metalconservator from Amsterdam ****** Unsubscribe by sending a message to [email protected] Searchable archives: http://cool.conservation-us.org/byform/mailing-lists/cdl/
