The British Library is pleased to offer a 12 month funded internship in Textile 
Conservation.

Intern, Textile Conservation
Location. St Pancras, London
Fixed Term for 12 months
Full Time (36 hours per week over 5 days)
Salary is £10.55  per hour (London Living Wage)

The internship is available to conservators who have graduated in the last 2 
years, have limited work experience in conservation, and who wish to develop 
their hands on textile conservation and assessment skills. The successful 
candidates will need to have a textile conservation qualification(s) (an MA / M 
Phil or equivalent in textile conservation is required).
The internship will focus on how Conservation enables the safe treatment, 
handling, storage and display of the Library’s textile-based cultural material. 
On completion, it is expected that the intern will have enhanced their ability 
to make recommendations for collection items and developed an appreciation of 
the history of items and the sensitivity to cultural and religious issues.
The internship has a monthly paid bursary (funded by the Clothworkers’ 
Foundation), it is subject to tax, and open to those who have the right to live 
and work in the UK.
