Do you have experience and knowledge of object conservation and the ability to 
work independently? Have you worked with collections teams to deliver 
exhibitions and support loans or acquisitions?

The Conservator (Objects) will be based in London working at the Science 
Museum, South Kensington. You will work closely with the other members of the 
core Conservation & Collections Care teams based at all SMG sites, and 
alongside project teams. You will undertake all aspects of interventive object 
conservation on a wide range of materials, including condition checking and 
documentation. You will also advise on display conditions, object protection, 
object installation and decant, object storage and assist in preventive 
conservation including integrated pest management and environmental monitoring 
programmes on site. On occasion you may manage short term staff, students and 
volunteers.

You will have a relevant conservation qualification or experience of object 
conservation, along with good team working skills and the ability to work 
independently. You will have experience of working on scientific, technical, 
engineering, modern materials or medical related objects, and strong written 
communications skills.
