THE DATE OF THIS EVENT HAS MOVED TO 26th/27th OCTOBER 2019. A few places are still available on the Wood Graining Weekend Course, run by the Icon Gilding & Decorative Surface Group and ‘The Paint Effect’ specialist decoration school. A comprehensive course covering all aspects of wood graining from surface preparation to the variety of techniques used to achieve this beautiful and convincing imitation. Using both oils and acrylic you will be taught how to pick the correct base colour, how to layer your glaze and how to use tools particular to wood graining techniques. The course will also cover an in-depth exploration of several varieties of wood, their visual properties and the natural formation of different woodgrains.
The woods to be covered during the weekend are: mahogany, walnut, straight grain, oak and birdseye maple. Date: Saturday 26th October - Sunday 27th October, 10am - 4:30pm.
