Hello All, I work for Preservation Equipment Ltd in the UK.

Without wanting to become too promotional within this thread, you may wish to
look at our 'Conservation Workstation', it operates at much lower temperatures
(30℃-300℃) than many of the other hot air pencils on the market, has a variable
air-speed control and various tips, which you might find more suitable for your
needs. It also features a tacking iron.
There is a demonstration video of it in use on our website (as demonstrated by
Nick Burnett of Museum Conservation Services). If you have any questions about
it please feel free to ask.

I'm not sure on the forum rules regarding links just yet, but I will happily
send you a link as a private message if you would find it useful, just let me
know.

Subject: Hot Air Pens

 Hello Laken
I have experience of a hot air pencil rework station obtained from Kaisertech.
It is fast heating with a temperature range from 100C to 450C.
With an adjustable air flow and automatic start when the handle is picked up.
I was use it with a crepe eraser to remove the residue adhesive once the tape
has been removed.

Hello Laken,

I only have experience with the Leister Labor S of the tools you are interested
in.

The Labor S has a connection box and handset.
On the connection box you can regulate the airflow, and on the handset the
temperature.

The temperature switch has the numbers from 0-6 on it, not any temperature in
degrees.

There are different attachments for the nozzle available, e.g. a small round
one and a flat wide one.
That way you can apply the heat to a specific area.

I find the Leister very good and helpful.

I hope this helps.

Best regards
Thilo
