Application open for the English Language Master's programme in Conservation and Restoration at the University of Amsterdam
From 1 November 2019 it is possible to submit an application for the English-language programme in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the University of Amsterdam for the courses that will begin in September 2020. The UvA programme has built-up an excellent reputation with strong international ties. The course provides a broad training covering both the humanities and the sciences. Training in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage in Amsterdam is organised in two phases. The Master's programme in the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage provides an introduction to the broader field of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage providing skills that enable the graduate to effectively communicate with professionals in the field. In addition, the knowledge and skills obtained will develop the understanding and application of relevant scientific research, especially with regard to his/her chosen field of specialisation. Once the Master's diploma has been obtained, graduates apply for the two-year Advanced Professional Programme, the second phase of the UvA conservation training that produces conservation-restoration professionals capable of working independently. Graduates accepted for this final phase are financially supported with a grant from the University of Amsterdam. An English-language minor course, as an optional initial phase, is offered at the University of Amsterdam for Dutch-language bachelor students wishing to apply for the Master's course. The Master's programme has nine specialisations which are offered alternately.
