Hi Marybeth,
If you haven't already, I would suggest Googling "rapid prototyping", "additive
manufacturing" and "plastics".. You will get zillions of hits, but that is
because you are then in the huge industry which makes products using 3D
printing processes every day, and not in the limited conservation literature. I
don't think that they would understand the word "stable" in the same way we do
in the conservation world (that is, the same time frame), but I think talking
to a few companies in your neighborhood would put you in the right direction.
Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio also does some work in this area.
Yours,
Bill

Subject: Materials used on 3D printing

All,

I am hoping you have some insight or experience with the materials being used
for 3D printing.  Since I am in the collections care world – I would really
like to 3D print in a material that will last.  I have done some research, but
am looking for guidance on stable materials.  Any help will be appreciated!

Marybeth
