Subject: Care of Collections Reading Group - 1 April 2025
 Message:
The Care of Collections Reading Group explores and discusses open access
articles covering preservation, collection care and collection wide
conservation such as environmental monitoring, risk management, collection
moves, etc. This activity provides an accountability partner for reading
through the new or established research as a method of keeping our awareness
high.

The group meets the first Tuesday, every two months for an hour of discussion
16.00 GMT. All are welcome to attend –though if you haven't read the
book/journal/article, you won't miss any spoilers: degradation, embrittlement,
climate change!

Third session:

1 April, 2025 via Zoom.

Message: Job Posting – Mellon Fellowship in Photograph Conservation – The Art
Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago is pleased to offer a two-year post-graduate
Mellon fellowship in photograph conservation starting in the Fall of 2025.

Fellows at the Art Institute participate in a wide range of activities in the
Department of Conservation and Science and gain experience in all aspects of
caring for a fine art collection while working in a large museum setting. This
Fellowship provides excellent hands-on experience on the examination,
documentation, analysis, and treatment of a wide range of historic and
contemporary photographs as they are prepared for loans, exhibitions, and
storage. Opportunities also exist for research and additional professional
development activities.

The complete job description, compensation, benefits and online application can
