Subject: Uncertainty Survey and Call for Panelists - 2025 AIC Annual Meeting
Workshop
 Message:
Dear all,

I am leading a workshop at the AIC Annual Meeting this year following up on my
presentation at last year's conference. The workshop will explore the inherent
uncertainty in pursuing a career in art conservation and offer a forum for
recent graduates and established professionals to share and learn from one
another. I would greatly appreciate you sharing your thoughts and worries in
this anonymous survey for my research. Uncertainty can take many forms--from
being frustrated about having to use the words "probably" or "it depends" to
not knowing whether you will have a job or get into a graduate program or
dealing with imposter syndrome. Our current presidential administration has
only exacerbated and expanded these existing feelings of uncertainty.

I would also love to hear what you would like to learn during this workshop,
topics you'd like to explore, who you would like to hear from, and any other
suggestions:

Additionally, I am looking for 1-2 more panelists--ideally a pre-program
student or recent graduate from a graduate-level conservation program.
Panelists will give a lightning round-style presentation, which will include a
brief introduction to you, and a time you have dealt with uncertainty, 2-3 min
each. Panelists will then engage in a large group discussion with attendees,
moderated by me (~30 min). Please reach out if you are interested!

I appreciate your help!!

Best wishes,
