The session will feature a review of our year, student presentations as part of the Graduate Research Exchange, and the election of new committee members. Graduate Research Exchange The Graduate Research Exchange aims to provide a platform to share valuable research, and to connect students and graduates with the wide community of people interested in the conservation of textiles. We would like to invite final-year textile conservation students and graduates who have completed their studies in the last two years to share their dissertation research on any topic relevant to the care and conservation of textiles. This call is open to members and non-members of Icon. Presentations should last approximately 10 minutes, and will be followed by a joint Q&A. To apply please send the following information to [email protected]: • Your name • Programme information: institution, course title and graduation date • Research title • Abstract of your presentation, up to 250 words All presenters should ensure they have appropriate permissions from copyright holders. The deadline to apply has been extended to August 18th. Researchers are invited to apply for grants that provide partial, short-term support for undergraduates to advanced scholars, who seek to utilize our Conservation Collection <https://getty.libguides.com/conservation/> consisting of specialized research materials related to the preservation and conservation of material cultural heritage. Library Research Grants are intended to provide support for costs relating to travel, lodging, and living expenses. Housing is not provided. In general, grants are awarded as follows depending upon the distance traveled: Within California (must be more than 80 miles away from the Getty Center): $1,500 North America, including Canada and Mexico: $3,000 International (outside of North America): $4,500 The research period can occur any time be between February 2, 2026 to December 18, 2026, and may range from 5 days to a maximum of 8 weeks.
