Survey for Painting and Textile Conservators

Foxing on Canvas Paintings

As a Paintings Conservator (Graduated MA in Belgium 2022) and MSc student in
Science for Industry at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, I am
reaching out to the international conservation community to request your
participation in a short survey. My research, conducted under the Higher
Education for Industry Consortium (HI-FI) and CU Sci Products and Services Co.,
Ltd., focuses on a major issue affecting cultural heritage objects in Thailand
and worldwide: Foxing Removal on Canvas Paintings Using Bacterial Nanocellulose
Aerogel.

The purpose of this survey is to document the different cleaning solution
formulations and their concentrations currently used, whether routinely or
occasionally, by Painting and Textile Conservators around the world. This
information will help us identify the most suitable cleaning formulations for
the experimental phase of our study on foxed canvas paintings samples and
ensure the representativeness of our research.

The survey takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. All responses are
anonymous and will be treated with strict confidentiality. By continuing, you
consent to the analysis and use of your responses for this research and for
related academic or professional purposes.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the project further, please
feel free to contact: Norman Verschueren – [email protected]

The survey is accessible via this link:

Thank you in advance for your participation and for sharing this post.

Royal Collection Trust, UK (Deadline: 12 March 2026)

It's the sense of guardianship for a world class collection

It's preserving unique art, history and knowledge. And it's encouraging your
team to care for and present remarkable treasures and stories. This is what
makes a career in Royal Collection Trust exceptional.

The Royal Library and Royal Archives are home to one of the largest and most
important collections of manuscripts, printed books and archives in the world.
As Head of the Royal Bindery, you'll lead the Royal Bindery team, ensuring the

About the Role

Managing all aspects of the Royal Bindery's work, you'll plan and oversee the
programme of conservation works.
As the lead practitioner you'll bring vast technical expertise to the role,
advising and guiding others in bookbinding and conservation methods, as well as
undertaking key conservation projects yourself. You will also oversee the
creation of new binding structures.
Collaborating with both internal and external colleagues, you'll make strategic
contributions to the storage, display, loans, access and information management
of the collection.
You'll ensure our policies and best practise guidelines are evolving
continuously and will bring new solutions to technical challenges.
Managing the Royal Bindery team, you'll encourage new talent and grow skills in
those around you, developing future leaders in book conservation.
Aligning conservation needs with the wider activities and aims of Royal
