Yes there is an issue there.
You say you use the dar2 contrib from Darrell May, and not the built in dar
backup system (which also uses dar), is that correct ?
Your backup data file size etc would indicate something is there. Are you sure
the USB drive is being mounted properly when trying to do the restore ?
Do you see it in /media/usbdisk ?
If you manually mount the drive can you read from it and write to it ?
