Summary: Zarafa 6.4 RC3 throws SQL permission errors
Classification: Contribs
Product: SME Contribs
Version: 7.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Unknown
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: smeserver-zarafa
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
QAContact: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
This is for informational and tracking purposes as I have raised a bug on
Zarafa forums. http://forums.zarafa.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4244
<post>
Fresh install and no mail coming in. Checked log files and found...
SQL Failed: Access denied; you need the SUPER privilege for this operation,
Query: "SET GLOBAL max_allowed_packet = 16777216"
Executed this sledgehammer GRANT SUPER on *.* to zarafau...@localhost; and the
errors went away and mail started flowing.
Is this intentional? I don't really want to give zarafa SUPER rights to MySQL
if I don't have to.
</post>
It seems that Zarafa wants SUPER user rights to MySQL and I don't think it is a
good or secure idea to do this.
