I am backing up a Centos 5.5. workstation with affa. Tried a restore
onto a clean installation of 5.5 and it failed - can be reproduced.
When login as user chris, logon does not complete, see errors
information end of this ticket. I have perform this operation some 12
months ago successfully on a number of occasions, version at the time
was below 5.5, probably 5.4 or even 5.3, not sure.

# Trying to log as user chris
Error messages are:

1)User's $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored. This prevents the default
session & language from being saved. File should be owned by user &
have 644 permission. Usre's $HOME directory must be owned bu user & not
writable by other users.

2) Press OK.
Your session only lasted less than 10 seconds. If you have not logged
out yourself, this could mean that there is some installation problem
or that you may be out of disk space. Try logging in with one of the
failsafe sessions to see if you can fix this problem.

3) View details:
No profile for user 'chris' found
-bin/bash: /home/chris/.bash_profile: permission denied

Unable to create ~/.gnome directory permission denied

Could not create per-user gnome configuration directory
'/home/chris/gnome2 permission denied.

I still have this W/S, can do some testing if required.
