Using a sme8 fully updated, 32 bit system.
smeserver-rkhunter & rkhunter were not previously installed.
I did
yum install smeserver-rkhunter --enablerepo=smecontribs --enablerepo=smetest
This installed
rkhunter-1.4.0-1.el5
and
smeserver-rkhunter-1.2.0-8.el5.sme
followed with post upgrade & reboot
Looking in /etc/cron.daily/rkhunter the file attributes are still missing the
exceutable bit.
cd /etc/cron.daily
ls -al
total 72
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Sep 11 19:44 .
drwxr-xr-x 88 root root 12288 Sep 11 19:50 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 379 Mar 28 2007 0anacron
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2181 Jun 21 2006 prelink
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2125 Sep 11 19:44 rkhunter
.........
I assume from comment 1 & comment 2 that the rpm was fixed to give the required
+x to the cron job file
This does not appear to have happened.
Needs review/correction
At present still requires manual chmod
cd /etc/cron.daily
chmod ugo+x rkhunter
ls -al
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2125 Sep 11 19:44 rkhunter
