the reason is
# /etc/e-smith/events/actions/mailman-restart
serviceControl: Unsupported BACKGROUND=>TRUE at
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/esmith/util.pm line 1100.
I had to use this previously because the service mailman restart did hand and
let the server manager load for ever after restart.
used to work but seems this option does not work anymore.
