When trying to add dates times etc to cal and timesheet the date gets blanked
out, and the error "Field must not be empty !!!" is displayed.

The solution to this problem is actually quite simple, you need to fill out all
the user preferences (if necessary, force them onto the users) so that
timezone, date & hourformat etc is filled in.
