could you please report the output of
rpm -qa smeserver-affa
and also
looking at the current code we have a script called by affa unless
$job{'SMEServer'} == 'no', in other word you set no affa to not run it.
/etc/affa/scripts/SME/signal-pre-backup
which does
#!/bin/sh
/sbin/e-smith/signal-event pre-backup desktop
the desktop is useless, but should not prevent the scripts called by the event
from running.
