Yes, I'm at a loss to know what is going on there. It works fine on my testbox
now.

The manual start/stop/restart is not really the big issue. It is the start on
boot that is.
Can you paste the output of this please:
printenv | grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH
Also just to be sure:
cat /etc/profile.d/teamspeak.sh
