Person who has a license for the automatic weapon has to be present. Gun has to be within 15 or 30 feet of the owner (don't recall the distance). Red's may actually rent automatic weapons.

Age limits - 21 for handguns, 16 for shotguns, 18 for rifles, I think. I'd have to doublecheck.

21 is a safe age for an outing, anyway. No restrictions on "needing a certificate showing you've done a gun course that you couldn't take because you don't live in that state".

(BTW, I top post because I'm used to the Baen Bar)

Actually, as I recall, it was Stu's idea to have it in Houston.
Since Rob's not going to be back, we have three choices - concom meeting without Rob on the original "how about 5/1" date, concom meeting with Rob after he gets back (the 8th/9th), or both.

Both, or with Rob.

Apparently Thursday night is "Full Auto" night at one of the ranges. If we advertise it enough in advance, we might have 20-30 people willing to do 'geeks with guns' on Thursday, especially if we scrounge up some fully automatic weapons. I'll do some asking around and see if I can get a couple of Uzi's.

Erm...what are the license requirements for that...? And the age limits...
