I don't think the insall.log file will help too much.
I don't have your NIC card in order to test this, but maybe you can do it.
At the install time we use the kernel-2.2.17-BOOT9*rpm
You can find in tar.bz2 format at ftp://ftp.mandrakesoft.com/pub/florin
you can download it and copy it on / and then do a tar xIvf and everything
will be copied in the right place. You might have to correct the
permissions. Then add and entry to the lilo.conf file and reboot the
computer with it. Then try to insert the modules and see if it works.
