I'm looking for a current distro that I can put on my 386 right now!
I've finally given up and decided I'll just do it myself using
http://linuxfromscratch.org.

I find it kind of humorous that every time the subject of
i386/i486 compiles or anything else along those lines is
brought up, Mandrake employees don't respond to the
seemingly valid points raised by us users. I thought I
actually found a good way to have the best of both
worlds, and took the time to write it out as best I could
and post it to this list. All I want is to hear what you
have to say about my ideas (in the e-mail above).

I know you guys are busy and stuff, and if you had
planned on getting back to me, I apologize. All too
often though, if an e-mail doesn't get answered in the
first 2 days, it'll get forgotten and never revisited.
I'm just trying to make sure that someone sees the ideas
I've offered.

If I get a good response from Mandrake, it might actually
shut me up for a while. =P

To try and spread my idea and increase my chances of a
response from a Mandrake employee, I'm cross-posting this
to Cooker-PPC and Cooker-Firewall. The ideas I've
expressed above regarding building minimal installs for
different architechtures can apply to both the Cooker-PPC
distro and the SNF distro discussed on Cooker-Firewall.

I hope that for once I can actually receive a response on
a subject that has been ignored for the past year, and
that means a lot to myself and many others who do still
use older hardware and alternative architechhtures.
