Hello there,

we have answered several times at this question. Thes kernels in the SNF were
not compiled with the math co-processor emulation. This would have implied
too big floppy images for the boot process.

We have started to compile several packages for a 486 but stopped the
process at some stage because of the above reasons.

One can install the SNF even on a 386 with a math co-processor. 

Maybe this is not the answer you were looking for ...

One of Mandrake policies is to compile all the packages with Pentium
optimisations.
