It will definitely run on older PPc's. Whether your particular G3 upgrade
card is supported is a matter for you to investigate in appropriate forums
(e.g., linuxppc-users list, Linux Documentation Project, the
manufacturer's website, the LinuxPPc Faq-O-Matic, google, etc).

This is a beta1 release. Documentation and simpler installs will become
available as the beta progresses and becomes more complete.

If you have Toast 4, it is quite simple to burn the cd. Download the
image as a binary (not as text). Open Toast 4.
Select the format: Burn Cd-Image (IIRC) Click the 'data' button and
select the iso image. And then burn the disk. BTW, the disk will not be
bootable on an Old World machine. You will need to use BootX. And you're
going to have other problems as well, until new iso images are released.

I would bet that your upgrade cards are supported. I recommend going to
http://linuxppc.org and searching the list archives for the name of your
upgrade cards. Eventually this will all be very simple. As this cooker
release becomes more complete and more finished, it's going to be the
sharpest linux distribution available for the PowerPC architecture.
