PowerBook G3 (2000) & Network Detection

Yo!

I tried to install the Beta 1 on a PowerBook G3. Everything woks fine until 
the installer should start the network detection. There I just see the clock 
but nothing else.... I tried it several times, always with the same result or 
no result... Once I left the installation at that point for 2 hours. I came 
back, the clock still there, could move the mouse but that's it.

Any ideas?
