I installed first MacOS & OSX, then downloaded the debian iso images onto
an HFS partition and mounted them for debian installation. I wanted to
install mandrake in the same way, but there are two problems with
installing mandrake that way:
1) mandrake only allows to install from iso images on an ext2 or vfat file
system. So I copied the iso images to an ext2 partition.
2) the second virtual console is not availble at the moment when I was
asked for the location of the rpm's, so I could not mount the iso images at
all.
btw, I was trying to install a minimal base system (non groupp selected).
When I got into the loop packages selection -- installing packages --
packages selection, I tried to unselect the problematic packages, but the
install program still tried to install them, probably some other packages
are dependant on them.
