Hi all. I'm extremely new to Mac/PPC/etc.... the last time I touched
an Apple machine was the old Apple IIe in highschool... =) So forgive
me if I'm asking really stupid newbie questions here.

I'm trying to dual-boot MacOS/X and Mandrake PPC... I burnt the RC CDs
and repartitioned my drive so each has 10GB. I've reinstalled MacOS/X
on the first drive, left 10GB as unallocated for Mandrake.

When I hit C to boot off the install CD, it takes an extremely long
time before I see anything on the screen. Then I get a quick kernel
message and it fires up DrakX, but I don't get an actual boot prompt
(like with lilo) to specify any options. I think I need this because
DrakX started with the most horrendous colors and was either taking an
obscene amount of time or it hung (not sure which.. after about 15
minutes I just reset the machine).

This is an iMac G3 500mhz system with 128MB RAM and a single 20GB
drive.

Anyone got any pointers for this Mac-ignorant fellow? =)
