When I installed lots of mandrake packages over my linuxppc 2000 Q3 setup,
all keys were remapped both in X and on the console. This made even
console switching impossible. I configured linux to not load any kernel
keymaps, and turned off the Xkb extension by specifying -kb as parameter
for X in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf. I don't have a XkbRules option in my
XF86Config, only
Option "XkbModel" "macintosh"
maybe because this is my own XF86Config; it wasn't updated when I
installed the mandrake Xree86 packages. Maybe I should try this option but
right now this configuration works for me.
Console switching works fine (runlevel 5) with ctrl-option(alt)+Fn. I only
need the command key (+ctrl IIRC) to swith out of full-screen MOL.
