I think Nvidia is being worked on for PPC, but nothing yet that I know of.
On the hard drive, try initializing it in MacOS first, so it has a valid
Mac partition table, whether you want to leave part of it HFS or not is up
to you, but leave free space for the installer to do it's thing.
