The MacOS pdisk doesn't work on all machines, I guess yours is one of them. Can you boot into rescue from the CD? If so: pdisk -l /dev/hda mount /dev/hdaX (X=your "/" partition) /mnt/disk look at /mnt/disk/etc/yaboot.conf and see if the listing corresponds to the partition structure if if does: cd chroot /mnt/disk ybin -v /sbin/nvsetenv | grep boot-device see if that looks right hmount /dev/hda10 [stew@powerbook-cooker SPECS]$ hdir d 0 items Jul 30 2001 Desktop Folder f tbxi/UNIX 0 3135 Feb 15 07:04 ofboot.b f boot/UNIX 0 149220 Feb 15 07:04 yaboot f conf/UNIX 0 2955 Feb 15 07:04 yaboot.conf your size may vary, but the files should be there, and the types should correspond exit umount /mnt/disk reboot HTH Stew Benedict -- MandrakeSoft OH/TN, USA http://people.mandrakesoft.com/~sbenedict/ PPC FAQ: http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/demos/PPC/FAQ/
