I had no problems
installing the 8.2b1 on a g4 Cube. I am a complete linux newbie. I
tried yellow dog 2.1 which would could not see my cdrom so I had to use an older
kernel supplied with 2.1. It installed but X was screwed up. I fixed
it but was not happy so I wanted to try mandrake 8.2b1.
8.2b1 installed
great without a hitch. It supports my vid card and kde seems to function
fine. The only quirks with the install were that I had to fix the boot ldr
by restarting it and hitting "command option O F" and then typing "setenv
boot-device hd:12,11:tbxi" which was told to me by a popup message -
nice:)
I have only fooled
around with ftp and mozilla but so far it works great.
