To think about it, that's why sometimes when the modem failed to connect under OS X, I had to restart to get it back to a working condition. Should have guessed :p
And to think that I actually checked YDL's hardware compatibility page beforehand :p. USB modem it is then, sigh. Pilot-Link works much faster than Palm's OSX beta sync software - I have a sneaking suspicion something's wrong with *their* multitasking code.
