Well, there is still hope - for this rather annoying
USB softmodem, drivers for even Linux/x86 are not out
yet, so maybe that's why we still haven't got drivers
for PPC either.

Probably just wild optimism, but heck. Meanwhile, I
managed to get another USB modem that turned out to be
a dud as well, so it's back to a good ol' serial-USB
converter.
