Yep, but there is only a stupid problem with these lines of command on my 
iMac: before the Mandrake runs correctly, the keyboard is a US keyboard 
(qwerty I guess) and I have not succeeded in finding the \ on the azerty 
keyboard of this iMac. 
(I am comparing the Linux ppc distribution and I have met the same problem, 
with the YD: there seems to be no azerty keyboard file in their installation 
CD.. only a fl-latin1, which I hope is the nearest from the azerty... I know 
that France is a small country for Americans, but do not forget us!!! :-) )
 
Thanks a lot for your help... I will try again.. but do you think that the 
problem can come from the image iso?
