- I did a re-install and tried to find out the source of my non-working printer. Obviously Linux doesn't recognize it (I tried dmesg | grep USB). During installation, my other USB devices were recognized, I could chose a wheel mouse, but I couldn't chose a printer. The printer driver module /lib/modules/2.4.18-6mdk/kernel/drivers/usb/printer.o.gz is there, but not loaded (I ran /sbin/lsmod in order to check that). How can I load it? And it would probably a good idea to fix it. :-) The driver for my specific printer is there, I can chose it in the Mandrake control center. It's part of the gimp-print package, so that shouldn't be the problem. Can anybody give me a quick solution that will work before the final release? :-)
- Mozilla still doesn't load, or, to be specific: If I try to load Mozilla Navigator via the KDE menu bar (K -> network -> internet -> WWW) or if I put an icon in the toolbar, it doesn't load up. Obviously there is a wrong link somewhere. If I load Mozilla messenger, it starts up without any problems, and once I'm in Mozilla, I can of course start the Navigator, too. - The text cursor seems to be less jumpy after having typed "trackpad notap" in the console. Obviously there is a connection :-) Hope that helps and hope somebody helps me with my printer :-) Johanna
