Hello, Just to throw in my 2 cents... I am the current head editor of www.imaclinux.net, one of the major PPC Linux sites.
First, let's be said that the PPC Linux market seems to be moving and not that tiny as many people may think. I don't have any exact figures either, but the fact that our site gets a few hundred thousand hits a month indicates that there has to be a larger user base at least interested in Linux on PPC machines and thus also in a usable Flash plugin. So far the PPC community already has undergone attempts to convince Macromedia of the utility of such a PPC port of their Linux flash plugin, without success. As you noted, Nick, they also seem to neglect the x86 version. So there's only little hope that another attempt at Macromedia will change anything. A possibility could be to offer them to port the x86 plugin on our own, if necessary under a NDA. Another way to convince them could be to have Mandrake talk to them and offer a port as premium software in the Mdk club, if necessary against a fee to Macromedia (like with some other premium software, like Star Office...) Of course, that'd be the worst possible solution. A final try could be to code our own open source flash plugin. As far as that is concerned, we'd need some skilled developers to handle that and above all clear legal issues first...
