It's a G3 btw, and I'm using arch/ppc/boot/images/vmlinux.elf-pmac to be specific > What are newkernel scripts? I can't remember what it's called but I also tried the mandrake script which basically updates the yaboot.conf for you and stuff. It's not fancy or anything. Errmm config options I could exactly paste in this email... lets just assume that my kernel config options are OK, since I've used only the most basic settings (with the proper platforms selected of course). I don't need sound or half the other features in there. I've compiled and used kernels without problems on x86 many times before. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.
