Nobody is doing a german translation yet; so you can do if you want.

No. That is not a good idea. German is an official national language
in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Italy;
That is there are a real bunch of different keyboards.
Not to talk about people living anywere in the world but that want to
use german in their computer.
You simply can't choose a keyboard based on *language*; keyboards have
layouts that are mainly *country* dependent; but not allways: Switzerland,
Russia, Armenia and Turkey have two differnt keyboard layouts; same chars
on them but different layout; and there is the dvorak too...
Keyboard layout must be choosen independently, from a menu; like choosing
language is done.
The only thing needed is that the keyboard layout be choosen before any user
typing is needed, of course.
