I'm having a heck of a time getting the Contrib KDE2 RPMs working. I
installed them and then set $KDEDIR to /opt/kde2. Next, I added
/opt/kde2/bin to the beginning of my path. Then I set my .Xclients file
to launch /opt/kde2/bin/startkde.
The panel hides itself and cannot be restored. Icons are either goofy or
missing..it was a complete mess actually.
So then I decided to download the current code snapshots and it tell me
that my g++ compiler cannot create binaries (I think it was trying 'g++
-s'). Maybe my compilers are downlevel? I'm using Helios.
