The panel doesn't hide itself, it segfaults.
It's NOT EVEN ALPHA yet. The KDE2 snapshots aren't supposed to work, large
parts of them don't even compile at this stage.

If they were good for anything other than playing with the code, they
would be in the main distribution. ;)

Did you install libstdc++ and libstdc++-devel?
