I use PPPoE and the client on that site is a horrible one. That's the one
my ISP supplied and it has some heavy overhead. I've heard of people having
it use 75% of the CPU for a 100K/sec download. This page should shed some
light on the situation:

http://sympaticousers.org/faq/linux_pppoe.htm

I'm using the one from http://www.davin.ottawa.on.ca/pppoe right now and
it's excellent. Fast and efficient. It requires kernel support but it can
be a module.

I think it would be a good thing for Oxygen to have PPPoE support because
quite a few American ISPs are using it now and people are on their own. My
ISP has over 45000 users on PPPoE. SUSE already has one of the clients in
their distribution.

It would also be nice to have a PPPoE installer but I guess that's just
wishful thinking for now:)
