finally got my ide cd-rw working along side my scsi read-only cdrom.
After fsck'ing with it all day for almost 24 hours straight, i'm really
beginning to appreciate having such a "light" o/s. Thing runs faster than
windows, but does have it's huge system resource's requirements. (i.e. xserver
requires tons of memory!)
Although i have win98 and win98 sec edition, i would rather have linux
running on both my computers!
The main reason for the appreciation comes from the fact that it now runs my
h/w (ex. cd-rw), although it took about a year or 2 to configure it! But,
the more h/w i had to this o/s, the more valuable the o/s becomes.
"Unfortunately, that's one of linux's downsides, ...hardware support!"
Keep the h/w support going. I'll be posting a small report on the process(es) i
took for getting my `scsi read-only cdrom' to work with my `hp7200i cd-rw'.
Now for this cheap parellel port scanner, win-printer
(paperweight...samething), and usb cam (too new and may never be supported).
