I want to upgrade the kernel on my oxygen system to
kernel-fb-2.2.14-15mdk. I have the RPM here, and I can certainly do an
"rpm -ivh ..." and then go fiddle with symlinks and crap like that, but
I am wondering what the "sanctioned" Joe User method is. Is there a
tool which installs and/or configures a new kernel to be the default
kernel and preserves the current kernel as "linux.old" or something like
that?

Again, I can and certainly have hacked this in in the past, but I am
looking for "approved procedure" here. Oh and I did notice
"/sbin/installkernel" but that is hardly complete for doing the job.

Thanx,
b.
