Not sure if the kernel package has a pre-remove script. IIRC there is
not. There needs to be one however to remove
/lib/modules/$version/modules.dep otherwise the /lib/modules directory
for the kernel being removed/upgraded does not get cleaned up properly.
Somewhat related, I didn't get a response to my query about the "proper"
procedure for making a newly installed kernel the "active" kernel. *I*
can fiddle with symlinks, but should there not really be (at a minimum)
a script for doing this? /bin/installkernel does not quite cut it,
methinks.
