I'm in the process of optimizing my entire distribution for the K6
architecture and, in the process, ran into an interesting problem with
the XFree86 source. When I compile it everything seems to be just fine,
all the RPMs are built and install correctly. Problem? When I fire up
the SVGA server it refuses to read any of the modelines for the monitor
and bombs out. The binary SVGA RPM from Oxygen is fine though. Any ideas
what may be going on here? Is there a source RPM that uses the clean,
unpatched, 3.3.6 tree?

My system is:

AMD K6-2 450 w/ 256 mb of RAM
Voodoo3 2000 PCI
19 gb of disk
Kernel version 2.2.14 (main distribution tree, not the RPM sources)
Bunch more stuff that isn't really relevent.

I have built the GCC 2.95.2 source for K6, as well a glibc and other
associated libraries and utilities. Everything else built with this
setup is working correct. By the way, before I forget, the spec file for
glibc forces the build down the i586 architecture, I had to add a
similar %ifarch line to get some of the optimizations and the
architecture flags for the k6 included in the build.

Thanks,
John
