But when real 5.0 will be out; would 5.0-1mdk be bigger than 5.0-M25-1mdk
(or whatever like that) ? Also, no '-' can be used on the version or release
string, I think.

Maybe here is a case for decimal releases: Version: 5.0  Release: 0.M13.1mdk ?

Then 5.0-1mdk final will be greater than the latest milestone which would
be of the form 5.0-0.M25.1mdk
