Hi,

I'm having difficulty connecting to a remote printer. In the
windows environment, the printer is simply
                \\printsrv\printerone
What does that translate to in linux? Printsrv is a sun
running sunOS 5.7. I can telnet and log on just fine.
I've tried configuring the printer as a SMB printer, and as a
remote lpd queue. The /var/spool/printerone-smb directory has no
spooled files in there, and the status says printerone is ready and
printing. /var/spool/printerone-lpd says it is waiting for printerone
to come up, and has a bunch of spool files (test pages from printtool)
in there.

Trying to print test pages from printtool on either results
in
"Error printing test page to queue [queuename].
Error reason: lpr: connect: Connection refused
jobs queued, but cannot start daemon"

Help?

Thanks,
