I got messages like this installing Netscape and a couple of other packages
recently. Later on, rpm just plain hung while installing something else. I
had to kill -9 it! After that, I had to do a --rebuilddb, but once I did
that, I haven't seen any problems since (the same package that had previously
hung the system installed flawlessly after the --rebuilddb). I'm thinking
that my rpm db got hosed at some point. Anyways, unless someone has a better
explanation for why these messages are appearing (and I never did see one
after a few people posted about it after the last Netscape update), I'd
recommend simply preemptively doing a --rebuilddb just to be safe. I think
in the future I'll simply do this after any new install, or after installing
a large number of packages.
