 Hi,
I apologize for my ignorance and to have forgoten that I had to
make my BIOS to activate the USB and asign it an IRQ ( let say auto ) (
doh! )
(Random ?) -> I said "I don't think its Mandrake..." I wanted a hint ...

After two unsuccessfull Linux installation trials I found this way:
( the third try was successfull every where excepted for XFree 4.0 which I
avoided )
 - After ansering "YES" to the first "Try to find PCI devices" question,
Say "NO" to "Do you have any SERIAL_USB(... don't remember exaclty)"
After, Say "NO"to the second "Try to find PCI devices" question.
     The install then continue forward...
...
    At the Network step,
  - Say "YES" to "Try to find PCI devices".

...

It wasn't easy to guess when to answer "NO" and "YES"
(I told above that I restarted installion 2(3) times...)
When I clicked "YES" at the wrong time, the mouse stopped to work ( hang ).

I guess that the SERIAL_USB(... don't remember exaclty) has
nothing to do with the USB mouse (*?).

At the x configuration test step , the mouse was not yet working
( under X video mode test only ),
but it was after the reboot. Then the USB mouse driver was
installed and configured correctly (/dev/mouse link set).

Regarding XFree 4.0, I still wish to try it.
But I don't know how to install/configure it over XFree 3.3.6.
( Which rpm do I now need to install for 4.0 ).
