It finds the drives but you need to install install programs like 'mkisofs'
'mkhybrid'.

I only have a couple problems with the new beta version. One is that when I
boot from the CD, the install screen is shifted so far to the left that
anything on the left side of the screen is unreadable. I'm using an Nvidia
TNT card and an Acer 77e monitor. Not really a big deal, because I can
still get through the install, but I never had this problem in the past.
Also, I've read about Mandrake 7.0 auto-detecting CDRW drives and I've never
had that work. Mine is a Creative 4224 drive connected as a slave to my
second hard drive. I know some people have had success with this drive so I
don't really no what's going wrong. Another thing is that I agree with
someone else who mentioned including JDK in the install. I know installing
JDK is easy, but it would be nice to save the configuration and the download
and just have it included. A lot of the new distributions are coming with
JAVA support included. I think Mandrake would benefit from this also. Other
than those few things I think it's a nice update. It's a pretty impressive
and comprehensive update for a 7.0 to 7.1 upgrade, if I say the least. Not
many other distributions get so much accomplished in such a short amount of
time. Congrats!
